Russ Hensley / CEO

Russ brings to Shatterbox his business acumen from being a serial-entrepreneur, business development practitioner, information systems expert. He is the founder of several Information technology related businesses where he is also currently CEO of Hensley-Elam and asiGuardian.

These companies which he is involved with and manages collectively serve about 2000 corporations based in and around Kentucky. Through forging 13 years of business experience in those companies he has created and fostered relationships with many of the Toyota suppliers, major national medical centers and a multitude of Kentucky corporations that are the core of Kentucky’s economy. Russ is also an FAA multi-engine instrument rated private pilot.

 

 

 

Jeff Ruth

Jeff Ruth / President & Chief Creative Officer

Jeff has been designing in Lexington, Kentucky since 1996. Over the past 15 years he’s strived to bring an entirely new level of creative thinking to his hometown. With a passion for all areas of design, his career began in architecture school while attending the University of Kentucky and concluded near Cincinnati, Ohio at Northern Kentucky University, where he received a BFA in graphic design.

In 2001, Jeff co-founded Elevation Creative Studios—very successful in it’s own right. Elevation quickly established itself as an industry leader, winning numerous awards both locally and nationally. Clients included J. Peterman, University of Kentucky, United States Olympic Committee, Graham Beck Wines of South Africa and Lexington Convention and Visitor’s Bereau.

In March of 2010 Jeff created Shatterbox in search of a small, personal design studio, focused soley on holistic branding. This studio would be the foundation for a new era of creative thinking. Idea generation with a root in brand development would change creative expression and business success. To this day, Shatterbox continues to grow and expand it’s services to an international audience.

 

 

michael braleyMichael Braley / Creative Director

Michael Braley is an Art Director and Designer from Brooklyn, New York with 20 years of experience in brand, print, and packaging design.

Michael’s work has been recognized internationally and is in the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, The Denver Art Museum and the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany. Clients have included Aéropostale, American Express, AIGA, Effen Vodka, The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Global Lighting, IBM, School of Rock, and Tanqueray. His work has appeared in numerous publications and exhibitions including: British Design and Art Direction, The Clio Awards, I.D., Grafik (UK), Graphis, Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, London International Awards, The Art Directors Club of New York, The One Show, The AR100 Show, AIGA Communication Graphics, Step 100, and Print. Braley was the Design Director at VSA Partners, Inc., New York for two years. Previous to moving to New York, he was a member of Cahan & Associates, San Francisco, for nine years. Braley has taught typography at the California College of the Arts (CCA) and has lectured and led workshops at universities and professional organizations around the nation.

 

 

cody chathamCody Chatham / Graphic Designer

Enthusiast of art, design and typography, Cody Chatham joined the Shatterbox team in 2011 as a graphic designer. Cody’s portfolio reflects nearly a decade of his distinct holistic, fundamental approach to the creative process. Combined with diverse design experience, including freelance, in-house and studio, Cody lends a unique insight into the various branches of the design community and offers the dexterity to connect and collaborate with clients of a wide range of creative needs to deliver results that exceed expectations.

Prior to joining Shatterbox, Cody led an assortment of design projects, both large and small, for clients including Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., Lucas Equine and Country Boy Brewing.

A Central Kentucky native and lifetime learner of design, Cody spends his leisure time photographing the world around him.

 

 

Yoshi KasaharaYoshi Kasahara / Graphic Designer/Developer

Originally from Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan, Yoshi earned his Interactive Design degree in May, 2011 from Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Yoshi’s work has won six ADDY design awards including local and regional recognition during the past three years. Currently working toward a Masters in Computer Science, Yoshi continues to grow his professional abilities—both technical and creative.
